RECIPROCITY AND RECOGNITION.
THIS IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS LEGAL ADVICE OR REPRESENT THE LAW IN ANY STATE!!!
THIS GUIDE WAS DEVELOPED FOR HOLDERS OF SC RESIDENTIAL CONCEALED WEAPON PERMITS.
GEORGIA & SOUTH CAROLINA DO NOT RECOGNIZE EACH OTHERS PERMITS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE MULTIPLE STATES THAT WILL ISSUE A NON-RESIDENT PERMIT TO SOUTH CAROLINA CONCEALED WEAPON PERMIT HOLDERS, WHICH IN TURN ARE RECOGNIZED BY GEORGIA. THIS WILL ALLOW A SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT TO LEGALLY CARRY IN GEORGIA.
CAUTION!!
While your
permit may be recognized by a state you are visiting, the laws governing carry
of a pistol may vary drastically from one state to another.it your
responsibility to know and comply with the law.
IT IS YOUR
RESPONSIBILITY TO DETERMINE WHICH NON-RESIDENTAL PERMIT(S) BEST SUIT YOUR
NEEDS.

current as of 07/18/11)
As near as I can determine the
following states recognize ALL other states permits.
As near as I
can determine these states will recognize a S.C. permit
Alaska, Arizona,
Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan,
Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma,
South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West
Virginia, Wyoming
The
following is a list of some states issuing non-resident permits I
personally consider these states the best value and the least troublesome to
obtain. NOTE; states that only recognize residential permits are not listed as
additional recognizing or reciprocal states. States already recognized by South Carolina are not listed as additional reciprocal or recognizing states
Presuming
you have a South Carolina Concealed Weapon Permit and you obtain the state(s) listed below, it will add
reciprocity or recognition by the state(s) shown. You may have to navigate the
pages to find the information/forms you need.
